We won!  We won!  We won!  The daily lottery to get into the Wave at Vermillion Cliffs.  Each day 10 people who signed up on the web and ten people who go to the local land management office here in Kanab in person get to visit the wave daily.  Only 20 people per day are permitted to hike out and enjoy this section of the country.  Over 50 thousand people apply every year and only about 700+ get to go.  And the four of us are going tomorrow.  It's about a 1 hour drive there, a 2 hour hike in then enjoy the area and hike/drive back out.  There are no signs.  They give you instructions and a map to try and find the place and find your way out.  Not too many have gotten lost over the years, but there's alway a first time!  Thank goodness I am going with three other people who know how to get around!

I'm still recovering from my bout of something that allowed me to lose about 6 -7 pounds the past two days.  I always say the best way to lose weight is to get sick!  Anyway, I'll go no matter how I feel and just deal with it.  This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for us and I'm not going to miss it.  It may rain, which will make the trip out there in the jeep difficult, so let's keep our fingers crossed for minimal rain.

Hiked out to the Toadstools area today.  Short hike, nice terrain, beautiful rock formations.  Enjoyed lunch outside and drove back.  It was nice to get out after the past few days.  All else is well and we will be off on Friday to start our three day drive to Sandpoint Idaho!
